About the Muse Fusions Resident Muse: Bernadette Rose Smith
Let the beauty of what you love be what you do. – Rumi
A Note from Muse Fusions Bernadette:
Browse the categories bar and you will find a messy list of heart and home inspirations. I gave up trying to contain or order my fancies and decided that variety is one of the things I actually LIKE about life. Of course, as a muse, I would.
Now granted, I have not been a muse as long as the original nine and my father is not Zeus but I do offer experience that spans a decade and then some in a variety of modalities from artist and writer to home consultant and coach. As a muse, I am equipped to inspire a unique blend of heart, home, and lifestyle support. Using tools that encourage and strengthen positive links between where you live and how you live. The inside supports the outside. The outside supports the inside.
The emotional impact of change can sometimes slow a process. Because a major life transition of my own led me to this work, I do not take lightly the transformative powers of a well thought home and what we sometimes have to go through to get there. The key element is honoring your pace while holding the vision. Be assured, home and heart flow seamlessly in what I do.
I value your visit and hope you meander. Feel free to send me questions, comments or feedback. And know that I read everything – though sometimes find I am not always able to balance time and energy to answer promptly. (Perhaps you might identify.)

A Note from Author Bernadette:
The dictionary defines sanctuary as a place of refuge or protection. When my life turned upside down, the blank pages of my journal became that place. A refuge where I could rant, reflect, commune, witness, and even scribe wisdom from a higher presence.
As I “came to” in my pages, I came to in my home. Half empty rooms and blank walls shifted as I opened to a curious dialog with the space around me. After 18 years of sharing that space with my husband I became painfully aware of what our homes had not reflected: Who I was.
Confronted with the blank canvas of an echoing house I had no clue where to begin, realizing that every choice I ever made referenced to the needs and preferences of another. Aware of the power of choice given me, I slowly discovered the importance my environment played in my process to heal.
My life experience and expression as an artist grew into a passion for creating sanctuary, giving birth to a re-purposed path. I’ve been a teacher and practitioner in the arts of heart and home ever since, helping others identify better ways to claim their space and support themselves.
I am passionately committed to healing through creative expression and inspire with my heart-centered approach to coaching and creating “sanctuary.” I consult and gives workshops wherever I am led, sharing insights on how to heal spaces – within and without. And I continue to write!
