Okay. I know a lot of folks who read this blog … but who say they are shy about commenting … especially being the first! I’m breaking the ice. If you all knew each other the way I know you … you wouldn’t be shy at all! And to those who are “new” to this blog … WELCOME! You are not here by accident!

Odd…when I read this…I ‘saw’ a woman who was crying out from behind some kind of shroud for help…not so much of ‘anger’ happening as a canyon deep well of sadness. Hmmmm…..

What you ‘saw’ was pretty accurate to the energy of that night, Karla. The anger I expressed was methodically executed … and intensely sad. I think that’s what was so scary. That I wasn’t flailing around in my “tearing, shredding and scribbling.” Your ‘vision’ was a powerful one! Thank you for sharing it.

I agree with Karla’s comments. We just don’t see that the person who is angry, bitter or acting out is someone who is fearful out of their mind! This passage struck me the most:

“…but my fears crept in between Ray and me and they rendered me invisible, even to myself. I made it easy for him to leave because I left me first. When I look at that today, I understand HIS pain when he tried to rescue that not so silly little paint by number kit from the trash.”

Thanks for shining the spotlight on that one, Gina. We don’t often see how much fear takes from us – while we cling so tightly to what it says we will lose or not get. Seeing that we had BOTH become painfully invisible in the shadow of our fears … Still a valuable tool today when we “disagree” 🙂
