Title: “Changing, Recognizing The New You”
Artist: Margaret Warfield
Gift Giveaway: This book is filled with inspirational poetry and art that touches the soul.
Muse-Creations for Our Forgive it Forward Giveaway – Because forgiveness and creativity go hand-in-hand for us, Ray and I thought it would be fun to spice up our 35-day Forgive It Forward project launch with a focus on the arts. So, we sent a call out to the muses among us for a little assist and some inspiration.
Between June 14th and July 19th, we introduced artists, sculptors, potters, musicians – and more – who forgave it forward with us by donating a gift for a random drawing giveaway. Each muse answered two questions and shared a little bit about their creative process and passion. We hope they inspire you.
Margaret Warfield: Artist
This art journey that I am on officially began in 1982, when I was commissioned to paint the “Estate Home” of a family in Lawrenceville, Georgia.
With photo in hand, I began to bring to life a likeness of a valued memory of this family’s past. The day of completion arrived and it was time to present my first project. I must admit that I was very nervous. However, my emotional state was quickly relieved when the client began to cry when she was flooded with the emotions of her childhood escapades related to the painting.
My journey as an artist has been one filled with the joy of sharing with the public my concepts of reality. I think of myself as an artistic communicator, wishing to transform and extend perception and stimulate views toward new insights and expressions. All of my paintings contain elements of hope and love. Art is a language; its purpose is to open a dialogue between the art and the viewer, touching an emotion, remembering a moment from the past or simply bringing a smile to the faces of the audience.
So, tell us Margaret …
R&B: What does “forgive it forward” mean to you?
MW: We are each on a journey and we must learn to accept people where they are on their individual journey. I find that when we do this it is much easier to forgive and not find fault in the choices that people make. Learn to develop a forgiving heart, because you never know when you might need forgiveness.
R&B: How do you feel art enriches your life and helps to heal our world?
MW: The creation of art, painting, sculpting or designing a book is my way of communicating to the world, my reality. It is my desire that “my creations” will inspire people in some way. If my art does that, then I will be pleased. I am convinced that art has the ability to heal the aching soul.
