Muse-Creations for Our Forgive it Forward Giveaway – Because forgiveness and creativity go hand-in-hand for us, Ray and I thought it would be fun to spice up our 35-day Forgive It Forward project launch with a focus on the arts. So, we sent a call out to the muses among us for a little assist and some inspiration.
Between June 14th and July 19th, we introduced artists, sculptors, potters, musicians – and more – who forgave it forward with us by donating a gift for a random drawing giveaway. Each muse answered two questions and shared a little bit about their creative process and passion. We hope they inspire you.
Sharron Cee: Mandala Artist
Sharron is a sometimes poet and digital artist who creates her pieces for friends, family, and personal pleasure. Each piece is created with love (and occasional hints of humor).
She was always a creative child, but her creativity was sidelined by life and serious academic pursuits. Now in her dotage, her inner child has reawakened to the joy of the creative process.
Hmmm. Wouldn’t a Mandala created from a wedding photo be a unique gift?
So, tell us Sharron …
R&B: What does ‘forgive it forward’ mean to you?
SC: To me, ‘forgive it forward’ means living life without resentment or anger toward oneself or any other being. It means living each moment in a state of compassion/loving-kindness, wisdom and grace so that we may, as Milarepa so aptly put it, ‘live and die without regret.’ To ‘forgive it forward’ means creating a never-ending cycle of kindness that makes us carriers of compassion to each other.
R&B: How do you feel the art of creating a mandala enriches your life and helps to heal our world?
SC: Arts are the ultimate connection. We don’t need to live in the same place or speak the same language to appreciate art. We understand that we are ‘one’ through seeing, touching, hearing, sensing, creating, appreciating – experiencing – the power of art. Like the human spirit, art knows no boundaries. It nurtures the spirit of the young, the old, and everyone in between.

Thank you for inspiring me to read about mandalas. This past winter, even Southerners were showing off their (our) snow pictures. Now I get to see one from a totally new perspective. Beautiful!!!! And the concept makes me wonder about all types of subject matter and its ultimate effect…

I had marveled over the 2nd mandala when Miz B had shown it a few mos ago, but I have not seen the top one til now!! 
Really beautiful & intricately lacy looking! 
I puzzled over how you’d made the 2nd one when I’d seen it but I don’t even think I’ll try over the top one shown heh heh heh!! I’ll just sit back & appreciate them both!!

I’ve always been fascinated with fractals. how all is the same, yet different, yet the same, yet different.
I could stare at this all day and go through all the categories in my head and fit it somewhere in each one.

when i was a kid, one of my favorite toys was a kaleidescope. there is something really captivating about them. i don’t know if i’d be able to create them myself, but maybe if i tried, that would expand my creativity in other ways. i most definitely want to start using them in meditation. very cool.

This is awesome! I’ve never heard of Mandala’s before..where did they originate from? I looked closely at the mandala (top) I thought I saw eyes right in the center.
