    Mickey, I love your art work… as a teacher what would you say to a young person that loves art but feels that they just aren’t “as good” as other people, I have tried to tell her that art is subjective but as a teenager they always do that comparison….

      I would tell her to look at all kinds of art, to try a variety of approaches and media. If realism is a current challenge, beautiful designs can come out of repeated shapes, such as a geometric flower shape or something equally simple when overlapped and arranged to where it pleases. I have a friend who claims she can’t draw (not true) and does fabulous geometric design with ink and watercolor.

    I remember when I first saw your work Mickey…it was love at first sight!! 😀 I so love your use of watercolors in how soft you make them look and that you also use ink with some of your works. Very Beautiful!! 😀

    It’s so exciting to be introduced to artists for the first time. I appreciate Bernadette and Ray, not only for their “pay it forward” concept but their creative idea for this contest. Your watercolors are lovely. Whoever goes home with ‘Urban Altar Musings’ will be lucky indeed!
