So, writing is obviously ONE of the things that works for me when I find myself under the influence of gravity …

Thank you for this question, Bernadette. What really helps me is some form of spiritual centering— something to bring me calm and peace. Prayer, meditation, art, journaling, gardening, self-care, & seeking counsel from people I have confidence in.

So true, Michelle … as a muse, you would share that. 🙂 I think that making the time for the practices you share here is one key. And I emphasize the word making, NOT taking, because in this fast-paced world of gravity AND centrifugal force if we don’t MAKE it it doesn’t happen for the taking. I am so glad you visited. Your page always inspires me!

Writing and creating centers me. Touching others in however small a way helps as well. When something horrible happens I feel it in my gut. I must put some good back into the world. Centers me.

WoW Miz B….you always give me something *new* to ponder upon! 😉

I’ve never even thought or realized about the ‘gravity’ issue.
I know for me since the beginning of Summer a BIG change in my life …which I didn’t realize how much it (my life) was spiraling out of control…was actually doing what was #1 on my Bucket List…and that is reading the Bible from cover to cover which I have never done in my life. 🙂

I am still amazed at how MUCH my life has changed around for the Best since I’ve started doing this. It DID start with a dear friend gifting me with a large print Bible that is now one of my treasures. Yes I DO have a ‘few’ Bibles already but this one is special. 😉
I faithfully read it soon after rising in the mornings and contemplate what I read as well as sometimes journaling passages that ‘speak’ to me. And I do not do this to receive any Blessings or for anything like that either…I do this for my own personal reward.
The Blessings that have happened to me & to us are a total shock when they do happen & I continue to be completely Grateful each & every day (Thanking Him several times a day as a matter of fact).

This process has also helped me to steer towards a more healthier life in which I will continue to grow that way. 😉

I have realized also in this process something that most of you I’m sure already have known…..that it is not so much the outside influences that guide our lives (unless we LET them!)…….it is what we ARE inside each of ourselves that determines who we are & what we will be. Outside influences ARE there as a guide only IF we chose to follow them–Good….or Bad. 🙂

Thank-You Bernadette for yet another ‘enlightened’ thought for us to ponder!! 😀
    *hugs*

HUGS back to YOU, Karla, for what you share here about what helps you “while under the influence.” 🙂 Remembering “WHAT WE ARE INSIDE” as you share so beautifully … and the “MEMORY JOG” to connect to a Power greater than ourselves, your experience with the Bible, are two things that encourage us to share reverence and extend gratitude for the life we have and those around us …

As for me, you know I like to douse in books when I am in my morning “quiet time” … this popped out at me this morning “An irreverent soul who is unable to feel awe in the presence of things higher than the self is also unable to feel respect in the presence of things lower than the self.” Paul Woodruff . (from the book “An Altar in the World”) In a world that reveres so many things that do not serve our sense of wonder – unless we wonder how the heck … well, never mind … 🙂

Love you, Lady! You are always a blessing to me. xo

Gravity is part of “nature”, the nature of things. So to regain your gravity why not get close to it. Get wrapped up in nature, work in the garden, take a walk in the woods. Maybe even climb a tree and jump down, not from too high. That will put you in touch with gravity. Ha Ha. Gravity is a funny thing. To understand that I just look in the mirror. Ha Ha again.

Well, Anonymous 🙂 I may not take to jumping TOO often but sure feel gravity when I get to climbing … heheheh … Thanks for the wonderful grounding suggestion … One that WORKS for sure. I especially like this time of year and the smell of leaves on the ground! Thanks for stopping by!

I remember that it’s just part of life, “nature” as someone said. What goes up must come down and vice versa. This too shall pass…etc. I use my tools – meditation (a must), writing and yoga. I talk it out with good friends…but mostly, I just try to remember that “this too shall pass”.

What saves my life? What allows me to get up everyday and live my life? Only Love. It is the one thing that always gives me the courage to move through the quicksand slog of gravity meeting gravity. It is the only thing that gives life meaning when life is spinning out of control. It is the only thing that makes life…..Life. From the Love in the complexity of human relationships to the Love in the simplicity of existence with my beloved pets to the Love I receive from Spirit. It is all Love that saves me. Without it, I would not survive. I give thanks each day for Love.

As the apple falls from the tree, or as the last tear falls from the heart, no matter the mass, they will always fall with a resounding klunk. And in its urgency to fall, the sound alone compels us to snap out of it. It is the klunk that saves us. It is the “klunk” which compels change. It is the “klunk”, which can stop gravity in its tracks.
Perhaps for some, the “change” comes as quickly as a Wiley Coyote freefall, as the ground becomes the “change” for the apple. For others I suppose, the “change” allows for a much softer landing. Change of heart. Change of attitude. Change of Perspective. Or simply, a change of scenery.
In a secret garden, stands an enormous tree with great sprawling limbs.
It looks to be every bit a human as it crouches down before you with arms open wide.
Not unlike, certainly, when as a child feeling lost, heart pounding wildly, finds their mother, who kneels before them, with arms open wide.
It is in these times of loss and loneliness. In times of anger or frustration that we seek out the tree.
It is not difficult to find this secret garden. It is everywhere. You will find it in every tree and in every blade of grass. It is there in every single flower that reaches up and out toward you.
    So comes the klunk.
It speaks to you of being loved beyond measure.
And so the fall, becomes the feather.

What an extraordinary thing to sit here and try to wrap my mind around Gravity. I love it that you are back to writing. Well, I just love you Bernadette.

What lovely commentary. An interesting and inspiring read from all. Thank you.
